Earlier this month, rapper/entrepreneur Kanye West filed numerous trademark applications for both the word and the logo YEEZUS. YEEZUS is both Kanye’s nickname and the name of one of his studio albums.
He filed the applications under the intent-to-use 1(b) basis. This means that he intends to use it in the near future in association with the goods and services listed in the applications. What is interesting is that he applied for trademarks to be used in the Metaverse and that relate to non-fungible tokens (NFTs). For a breakdown of the goods/services he applied for, view this Instagram Reel or TikTok.
